Plasma Weapons

                         

Why couldn't skynet just make more plasma weapons for their terminators? It decided not to because it would get reverse engineered by the resistance and use it against it. I believe if skynet just focused on contemporary weapons instead of the next generation ones then the resistance would be doomed. Plasma is super heated energy balls that comes out of the gun and melting humans and other things with it. The TX terminator was a big upgrade then its precursors and it had a plasma cannon integrated into it. Its a  unique model because it cant be reprogrammed by the resistance and all its combat capabilities makes it very deadly. Skynet lost the war due to giving the resistance what it needs to win. The resistance wouldn't be able to put a dent with their weapons, only high tier weaponary would be required to beat the more advanced terminators such as the t 800 and up. The t 800s were the pinnacle of the most advanced technology skynet ever created.  Skynet fell short when plasma weapons came into the scene. There triple armored hyperalloy endoskeleton are very durable and can take alot of punishment before going down. When Kyle Reese in terminator 1 shot the terminator with a remington shotgun it really didnt do much damage to its endoskeleton or internal systems just temporarily stunned it. M16s, pistols, shotguns, or even a grenade launcher wont be enough. Plasma is also hard to resupply and to make more takes some time. Even though its more deadly then alot of weapons, its still a risk it might get into enemy hands. John Connor won the war by reprogramming skynets own machines and with very powerful weapons at his disposal. Without the resistance having advanced technology either created or salvaged from terminators then they wouldn't have much of a chance of winning the war against skynet. Even though skynet is a logical machine it's still not that bright since every supercomputer can have it's weaknesses. We outsmarted it because of our creativity, and being unpredictable. Tier 1 1st generation plasma weapons can destroy the advanced terminators like the t-800 but wouldnt really put down the t-850 due to its increased durability. Tier 2 generation plasma weapons would shred almost any terminator. It just shows how skynet needed something more to resistant plasma weapons so it decided to harden the t 800 series more. Skynet decided to go with upgrading its weapon tech instead of having its terminators rely on contemporary weapons because of it having to carry too much real ammo and can break or lose its recoil from shooting too much.
