Since skynets birth at the hands of Dr Miles Dyson, it learns very quickly at a very fast geometric rate. It thought of humans as a threat to its survival and thus tries to figure us out. The movie terminator genisys, skynet starts out as an adolescent child to eventually in a couple of hours, then minutes, and seconds to an adult. But we as humans defeated the infected John Connor and blew up the cyberdyne building. Daniel Dyson was the one who started his fathers project again and called it genisys. It was a new operating system that was hiding skynet within it. Skynet might be a logical machine but it doesn't think rational like humans can and is not unpredictable. It just calculates what's its next move. If plan A doesn't work then it goes to plan B and so on until it's mission or objective is complete. A cold and ruthless AI. It controls a vast array of networks through many infastructures such as the internet, satellites, automated factories, buildings and so on. It is a collective intelligence that controls its armies and acts as a hive where all its machines are extensions of itself rather then them being the opposite. The neural net processor was such a revolutionary breakthrough in technology because of its ability to learn and its advanced hyper data calculations.
